Wathen Qualifies for State for 4th Consecutive Year

 Wathen Accepts Qualifying Medal
The Butler Varsity Golfers competed in the 5th Region Tournament on Tuesday at Elizabethtown Country Club.  In the “win and you’re in” event, the Bears got off to a decent start, seeing them 9 strokes off a trip to the State Tournament as a team at the turn.  The second nine was a struggle for the Bears, finishing with them out of the qualifying state positions.  The silver lining was Senior Chase Wathen battling back to shoot under par on his second nine and qualifying him for state as an individual for the 4th straight year.  Wathen needed back to back birdies on his 16th and 17th holes to clinch the spot.  The Butler team season is completed and Chase will compete in the state tournament in Bowling Green next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
